Gilbert, a Therma affiliated company, is in immediate need of a Electrical Project Manager!

Gilbert Mechanical is seeking a Fire Protection Design Technician candidate with experience designing fire protection sprinkler systems for a variety of customers. The successful candidate will report to the Fire  Protection Division Manager and will be responsible for the sprinkler system design of projects awarded to Gilbert Mechanical on a design/build basis. This position requires in-depth knowledge of fire protection systems, building codes and construction standards. Strong communication skills are also a necessity to effectively work with other team members as well as owners and architects. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), profit sharing and vacation time. Salary to be determined based on education and experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Automatic sprinkler system layout and detailing using AutoCAD and/or AutoSPRINK software
  • Hydraulic calculations for sprinkler design
  • Perform water flow tests
  • Apply for city permits
  • Generate material lists and fabrication reports
  • Order and track materials
  • Field verify site conditions as required
  • Coordinate system design with other trades
  • Attend jobsite meetings as needed
  • Identify and resolve issues/conflicts as they arise
  • Maintain and develop customer relationships.¬†


Successful candidates will possess:

  • AutoCAD and/or AutoSPRINK software experience
  • Fire protections systems design experience
  • Knowledge of fire protection systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong leadership and communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office products¬†

Desired Qualifications:

NICET Certification
